I have 5 years teaching experience, 4 in the UK and 1 in Dubai. I have taught a broad range of ages from Yr 6-Yr 13. I have extensive knowledge of GCSE A/AS level/ IGCSE/ IA/AS Level. I have taught English Language; English First Language; English as a Second Language and English Literature

In August 2010 95% of my students achieved grades A-C. 65% of these grades were A or A. For 80% of my students the grade they achieved in my class was higher than in any other of their subjects

I have also had experience teaching Yr7-9 History and Sociology to GCSE and A level standard. In March 2010, 2 students wanted me to tutor them for an IGCSE in Sociology although they had not studied it before. Instead of studying the course for 2 years as they normally would, we worked together twice a week for just 8 weeks until their exam and they both achieved grades 'C' and would have achieved even higher marks if it hadn't been for the time constraints

As an experienced teacher I understand how to assess each student on an individual basis and create a learning experience that works for them. I ensure I provide a positive atmosphere for them to work in. I push all my students to work hard and achieve their best. I can tutor on a one-to-one basis or with small groups. I also have experience supporting students with specific needs as well as those who are gifted and talented
